Due to the tightening of the corona measures, the government has decided to expand the corona package for entrepreneurs and workers. The 2.2 billion euros allocated is in addition to the previous support package of 16 November.

For example, the NOW scheme is back. The Emergency Bridging Measure for Employment reimburses 85 percent of wage costs for the months of November and December with a minimum turnover loss of 20 percent. The subsidy also pays out up to a maximum of 80 percent of turnover loss. Furthermore, employees between February 1, 2020 and September 30, 2021 can also use the NOW 5 subsidy.

Fixed Cost Compensation (TVL)

For the TVL scheme, the subsidy percentage is increased from 85 to 100 percent. The TVL scheme can be used by entrepreneurs if their turnover has decreased by 30 percent or more compared to the fourth quarter of 2019 or the first quarter of 2020. Non-SME companies will receive a maximum of 600,000 euros, SME companies a maximum of 550,000 euros. The state aid limit has been increased from 1.8 million euros to 2.3 million euros.

Taxes

The tax deferral has been extended until the end of 2021. Entrepreneurs who have never previously requested a deferral or have already paid off all debts can still request a deferral. The quarterly returns for the end of 2021, which are normally paid in January 2022, are also covered by the deferral. Furthermore, the collection interest will remain low at 0.01 percent for another six months.
