First spring honey has been harvested

Time for a behind-the-scenes look at Boom's bees. Our colonies are doing very well at the moment. The very first 20 kilos of spring honey have already been harvested! This honey comes primarily from dandelions, which bloom abundantly in early spring and are an important source of nectar.

Of course, not everything is without its challenges: the bees are struggling with mites, a common problem in beekeeping. In the latest video, beekeeper Peter explains how he tackles this in a humane and effective way. A key part of this approach is finding the queen—a precise task that requires experience and patience.

Our bees are rented through beehive.nlOwner and beekeeper Peter Sterke cares for the bee colonies with great love and passion. He regularly creates a fun and educational bee vlog, showcasing everything that happens in and around the hives. This way, we can all watch how honey is made, from flower to jar, and at the same time learn more about the importance of healthy bees for our environment and food supply.
