Electronics companies join forces for gadget project
Approximately twenty exhibitors are also joining forces during this turbulent period to produce 1,500 gadgets for visitors to the World of Electronics. Last week this project received an official 'go', which shows that the collaboration in the electronics chain is going well.
The gadget for this edition is the 'WoTS parrot'. The WoTS parrot is a voice recording device in the shape of a parrot with a built-in microphone that records a line of text of approximately 10 seconds. The built-in microcontroller distorts this using a number of nice special effects and plays the spoken text through the built-in speaker.
On the exhibition floor, the visitor collects the WoTS Parrot by following five steps. For example, the special effects are unlocked 'live' using NFC (Near-field communication).
The developer of this project is Dekimo from Leuven. Now that the final BOM has been created, the next phase of the project starts: creating a development board, the final layout of the PCB, the design of the parrot and the first prototype. Dekimo is in regular contact with the supplier of the printed circuit boards for the design of the printed circuit board: Eurocircuits. The gadget is ultimately produced by A1 Electronics.
The following news articles about the gadget will discuss the component sponsors, the test sponsors, the manufacturer of the gadget and of course updates will follow on the current state of affairs.
The functionalities in combination with the trendy design in the shape of a parrot create the ideal gadget for young and old. You can get your hands on the trade fair gadget by registering Register for the World of Electronics and to register specifically for this project.
