At the end of 2021, Ampleon will be affiliated with the EMC-ESD association. Ampleon BV is a leading semiconductor company that provides RF power solutions for various markets, such as wireless infrastructure, broadcast and ISM. It was founded on December 7, 2015 (split from NXP) and employs more than 1,600 employees in 16 locations in Europe, Asia and North America.
At the company's headquarters in Nijmegen we deal with EMC in two ways. The first relates to health (i.e. worker exposure to RF radiation). We use RF radiation meters to measure exposure levels. The second is unwanted RF emissions (for example on UMTS frequencies). A shielding tent is used to dampen all radiated emissions.
In addition to EMC, Ampleon also focuses on ESD sensitivity and safe handling of products. The company has taken various measures to limit the risk of ESD damage, such as setting up EPAs, using shielding bags and making staff aware of ESD risks.
The above topics are the reason why Ampleon has joined the “EMC-ESD Association” and we hope to find valuable information among its members. The contact person is Aurelio Bellussi, part time lab manager, ESD/EMC coordinator and characterization engineer.
