Short corona news
- DSM was forced to do so this week to cut 200 jobs worldwide, of which 170 in the Netherlands. The decision is part of a broader reorganization that has now been accelerated by the corona crisis.
- Product confidence rose in August from -8.7 in July to -5.4, reports CBS. In August, industrial entrepreneurs were less negative for the fourth month in a row.
- In the week of August 24 to 30, 49 companies and institutions were declared bankrupt. This is 16 more than the week before. According to CBS are the most bankruptcies in the financial services sector.
- The US government has canceled seventy percent of a large order for ventilators from Philips. RTL reports that this has direct consequences for the previously anticipated profit forecast.
- PerkinElmir, FHI member Laboratory Technology, doubles the production of corona tests in Groningen. Dagblad van het Noorden reports that the company's corona kits are purchased all over the world.
Extension of current support and recovery package for companies
The cabinet has decided to extend the existing NOW, TVL and Tozo government schemes. The measures will be extended in an adapted form until the end of June 2021. The new package will come into effect from October 1.

Possibility to defer payment of taxes
Not only has the government announced that it will extend the current support and recovery package for companies, the option to defer payment of taxes also remains available. Entrepreneurs can apply for this on October 1.
