FHI Technology Manifesto 2020 – 2025: technology at the service of future society
The corona pandemic shows how dependent we are on each other, both nationally and internationally. Technology companies can lend a helping hand with innovations, products and services that contribute to the prosperity and well-being of people. Technology and innovations are the pillars of society today and in the future.
To emphasise this leading role of technology, FHI has drawn up the Technology Manifesto 2020-2025. This manifesto contains concrete recommendations for politics and society. FHI hopes to fulfil a supporting role in allowing companies, business chains and society to work closely together.
The main points of this manifesto are:
- A European approach to technology: committing to a level playing field according to European standards, embracing a green digital future through the Green Deal, making the European budget climate- and pandemic-proof, and setting stricter frameworks for a strategic industrial policy.
- A Dutch technology approach: building up strategic production capacity and stockpiling of, for example, medical devices, investments in energy infrastructure and more investments in digitalisation.
- Technology as an accelerator for society: companies should look outside their own industry or sector and dare to enter into new collaborations.
