This year the FHI Tournament was also a great success! At Golf Club de Scherpenbergh on the sunny Veluwe, about 100 members and relations came to play golf or mountain bike. A regular occurrence for many, some were new to this tradition. We had three groups playing golf which suited the different levels of the members.
Under the guidance of pro Adriaan, the beginners started learning the swing, putting, posture and teeing off. Golfers with a higher level played the Berkenbaan match under the guidance of pros Michael and Niels. The professional players did the real match. All golfers were treated to a delicious herring and a corn wine to relax the swing a bit.
Meanwhile, two groups went mountain biking. The beginners set off via Adventure Veluwe under the guidance of Bjorn Stokhof. The basics were discussed such as slaloming, switching gears and climbing a steep slope without dismounting. After a well-deserved break, everything learned was put into practice. The more advanced mountain bikers set off with Reinier Treur from Livingston, who knows the Veluwe like the back of his hand.
After all the activities there was time to freshen up and the winners were announced. All participants were allowed to choose a nice prize, the barbecue started and there was delicious food, drinks, conversation and laughter. There was a pleasant atmosphere, the sun was shining; all in all a successful day.
