On September 2nd, NEVAP, FHI Gebouw Automatisering and FME joined forces and presented three unique cases during a special event. A hybrid event where, by observing the corona rules, a maximum of 30 people could be present. Combined forces, cross-pollination and interaction between the members of the three organizing associations led to interesting discussions and a good dynamic between the people online and those present in the room.

The first case that was presented is a collaboration between various housing corporations and Octo. The jointly developed pilot “Woco of the Future” was explained in an interesting presentation. The research in this case was focused on how, by means of a smart method, real estate ownership can be mapped according to the NEN2767. Dirk Huibers, CEO and founder of OCTO and Jasper 't Hart, project leader data and digitalization at the Alliance, presented a representation of the lessons learned with regard to the “Woco of the Future.

The second case focused on the security of buildings, Richard Vermeulen of Connect-d discussed the need for up-to-date cyber security. During the presentation it emerged that buildings are increasingly connected and therefore also increasingly vulnerable. Because buildings are increasingly connected to the outside world, a hacker has more and more opportunities to get "in". Keeping a connected building safe requires attention, discipline and direction. Cyber security is not only offered by a single "secure" solution, but is many times more complex. A connected environment offers many opportunities and possibilities, but it is then essential that attention is paid to the cyber security of the building. Not only from a technical point of view, but also operationally.

Buildings of the future supply and buffer energy was the message of the third case. Stefan Olsthoorn, platform manager of Energy Storage Nederland, took the attendees in the hall and online through the broad developments surrounding storage systems in buildings and the energy system. Vincent Ruijter (Director iWell) showed how storage systems ensure that energy can be used optimally. In the near future, buildings will generate energy, be able to store this energy and work together with the environment.
