Growth in the fourth quarter was 0.9 percent

- The RIVM reported 53,548 new positive tests on Tuesday. On Monday there were still 55,116.
- In the fourth quarter of last year, economic growth was 0.9 percent compared to the previous quarter. That reports CBS based on provisional figures. Growth was lower in the last three months due to corona measures.
- Exports grew by 8.1 percent in December 2021 compared to December 2020. Chemical products, machines and equipment in particular were exported more, says CBS.
- A barrel of North Sea oil now costs more than 96 dollars. That is the highest price in seven years. The national recommended retail price for petrol is now 2,184 euros and for diesel 1,872 euros, reports NU.nl.
- The large Dutch pension funds saw their financial position deteriorate in January. As a result, increases in pensions are out of sight.
