It is with deep sadness that we learned of the death of Henk de Torter. Henk was more than just a business relationship for us; he was a valued and amiable person who meant a lot to the FHI branches and especially to Industrial Electronics.

Henk played an important role within FHI, directly involved from the companies Tektronix and Fluke, both leading in the design and production of advanced test and measurement equipment. Henk's personality matched the purpose of this equipment perfectly. He was rational, technically competent and had commercial insight. Thanks to his excellent communication skills, he managed to build bridges between people, organizations and associations.

From 1988 to 1997, Henk was a board member of the trade association for Industrial Electronics. Together with other prominent figures from the industry, he laid the foundation for the current association.

From 2005 onwards, the Recycling Technological Equipment Foundation (RTA) played an important role. Members were required to report how many electronic devices they placed on the market and were responsible for their recovery and recycling. Henk has set up an excellent system with the FHI agency, under the name 'Simpelweg'.
