Two FHI members have won awards with the innovative immersion cooling system from Asperitas and a fast-growing United Care.

Asperitas, FHI member in the Industrial Electronics sector, is the winner of the New Energy Challenge 2018, an international startup competition organised by Shell. According to the jury the immersion cooling system is significantly more sustainable than traditional air-based cooling systems. Asperitas receives 100,000 euros from Shell Ventures for winning the New Energy Challenge 2018.

The Asperitas immersion cooling system is particularly useful for cooling within data centers. With this technology, the energy footprint of a data center can be reduced by 50 percent. In addition, the residual heat can be used to heat water up to 65 degrees Celsius.

United Care, active at FHI in the Medical Technology sector, has won the FD Gazellen for the second year in a row. According to the Financial Daily the company is once again one of the fastest growing companies in the Netherlands.

The winner of the FD Gazellen focuses on the innovative development of transfer aids for care and welfare organizations. United Care also works on suitable solutions that are aimed at maintaining independent living, housing and working for people with reduced mobility.
