At nine out of ten company websites, visitor data is unsafe

Some 86% of the Dutch company websites that process privacy-sensitive data do not have sufficient security. In addition to safety risks for site visitors, entrepreneurs are at risk of losing more and more turnover. This is evident from combined research by MKB Servicedesk and SIDN, the manager of the .nl domain, after analyzing the almost 780,000 business .nl websites (excluding web shops). Of the nearly 429,000 corporate websites that handle sensitive data, just over 367,000 (85.6%) sites did so without any form of SSL encryption. (For comparison: 44% of government websites is now secured with this.) Click here for the full article. Source: MKB Service Desk
