The Itech The IT8100A/E series has been developed for modern power electronics testing where extremely fast dynamics, high power levels, and maximum flexibility are essential. This new generation of electronic loads combines a graphical touchscreen, powerful measurement functions, and exceptionally high power density. With power levels from 2 kW to 86.4 kW per unit and scalability up to 1.8 MW via optical master-slave coupling, the IT8100E/A offers a future-proof solution for R&D, validation, and production.
The series is available in 60V, 150V, 600V, and 1200V models. The maximum output depends on the voltage. For the 150V models, this is 7.2kW/3U, and for the 600V and 1200V models, it is 6kW/3U. Thus, a 37U 19-inch system can accommodate up to 12 units (72kW or 86.4kW). Multiple 19-inch systems can be coupled using a master/slave setup up to 1.8MW without synchronization issues or additional noise. The 60V model is available in 2, 4, or 6kW versions with a maximum current of 800A, 1600A, and 2400A, respectively. The minimum operating voltage of 0.24V at 2400A makes the series suitable for testing fuel cells, low-voltage batteries, and modern semiconductors.

Advanced dynamic functions for realistic load testing.
The IT8100A/E series excels in dynamic performance. With a current slew rate of up to 150 A/µs per unit and a transient frequency up to 50 kHz even the fastest dynamic loads can be tested.
Extensive operating modes and simulation functions
The IT8100A/E supports all classic load modes such as CC, CV, CR, CP, and CE, but also offers a range of combined modes (CC+CR / CR+CV / CC+CV / CP+CV / CC+CR+CV+CP) for realistic simulation of complex loads. Additionally, the A version features CE/CC sine/CC Pulse/Table mode.
The series also offers advanced features such as LIST programming, OCP/OPP tests, short-circuit mode, and user-defined waveforms. Users can up to 1,000,000 points import or define yourself, making the IT8100A/E suitable for complex waveforms in real-world situations.
Advanced tests
The IT8100A/E features an extensive battery discharge mode, with support for CC, CR, and CP discharge. Users can set cutoff criteria for voltage, capacity, time, or energy, while real-time monitoring of voltage, time, and Ah/Wh values is available.
With the Sequence function, various waveforms — such as sine, pulse, ramps, and user-defined — can be combined into a single continuous test program.
The Sweep function supports linear and logarithmic sweeps of voltage or current, ideal for I-V characterization of semiconductors and power modules. Pulse sweeps reduce self-heating and improve measurement accuracy.
The IT8100A/E models can deliver up to 1.5 times the nominal power for a maximum of 60 seconds (at an ambient temperature of <25 °C). The A models even have a transient capacity of 4 times the nominal power for 1 msec.
The load supports USB, LAN, and CAN as standard interfaces, with optional RS‑232, GPIB, and analog expansion cards.
Applications in modern power electronics
The IT8100A/E series is used worldwide for testing EV charging stations, fuel cells, AI server power supplies, power modules, semiconductors, solar arrays, UAV systems, and intelligent manufacturing equipment. Thanks to the combination of high speed, high accuracy, and extreme scalability, the series is suitable for both R&D laboratories and large-scale validation and production lines.
