The government is taking additional measures for entrepreneurs
On Tuesday, April 7, the government announced that it would take additional measures to support entrepreneurs. This is in addition to the existing emergency package, which proved insufficient in various respects for certain sectors.
The first of these measures is that the TOGS scheme (one-off gift for directly affected entrepreneurs) will be expanded. Companies and entrepreneurs without a specific SBI code in the Trade Register can now also claim this, as can smaller SME retailers. This includes, for example, tattoo parlors and dentists' practices.
In addition, companies that have problems obtaining bank loans and guarantees can use the GO scheme (Entrepreneurial Financing Scheme). The guarantee ceiling has been increased to ten billion euros. In addition, the maximum guarantee percentage has also been increased from 50 percent to 80 percent for large companies and 90 percent for SMEs. In short, more access to additional financing options.
There is also now a lower premium that entrepreneurs must pay for using the BMKB scheme (Borgstelling Small and Medium-sized Enterprises scheme). This has been reduced from 3.9 percent to 2 percent. In addition, the guarantee budget of the scheme will be increased to 1.5 billion euros. There will also be specific financing options for startups and scale-ups. For this type of companies, the government offers bridging loans that are made available through the regional investment companies (ROMs). The amount of these credits is one hundred million euros.
These measures particularly help suppliers, larger SMEs and young fast-growing companies. The Dutch government has always indicated that the emergency plan is continuously developing and these measures can always be extended or expanded. If this is the case, we will inform you.
