Cabinet wants to extensively relax corona rules

- The total occupancy in hospitals has decreased. There were 49 fewer corona patients in hospitals on Wednesday.
- The government wants to significantly relax the corona rules. For example, opening hours will be extended, the work-from-home advice will no longer apply and the corona pass must expire at the end of this month. VNO-NCW calls for all restrictions to be dropped, writes the FD.
- Globally, the number of corona infections has fallen by 17 percent compared to a week earlier. This is reported by the World Health Organization WHO. Omikron is dominant worldwide, accounting for 97 percent of cases.
- The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) carries out additional checks on energy suppliers. The ACM wants to know whether they are in good enough financial shape to continue supplying electricity and gas, reports NU.nl. In the last six months, six energy suppliers went bankrupt due to high energy prices.
- A number of Chinese former employees who made off with trade secrets from ASML have set up a company in China. This is in an attempt to sell the technology in question. ASML reports this in its annual report.
