One of the 5G components that is not talked about too much is Mobile Edge Computing (MEC). However, Edge Computing is a key component for 5G deployments for enterprises.

Edge computing in IoT devices means that the data is not in the cloud, but is stored, processed and analyzed directly on the device itself. Edge computing is the best way to efficiently and quickly handle all the collected data from IoT sensors.

Many 5G use cases are being advertised as IoT and video use cases. But have you ever thought about where the information is going and how you can use the data? And how is that data being secured? Especially if it’s mission critical?

In the presentation by Eric Kroon, service Solutions manager of Nokia, will discuss what Mobile Edge Computing is, what it can be used for and how it is implemented in the (private) network. He will also walk you through a number of different use cases and how they are implemented.
