FHI, Federation of Technology Industries – September 18, 2020
- In collaboration with the GGD Amsterdam, TNO will soon open a test street for a newly developed corona rapid test at the Amsterdam RAI. This is half the price and delivers a result within an hour. The rapid test is being developed in part by the RIVM, fine chemicals group DSM and the academic hospitals in Leiden and Groningen, writes RTL News.
- In the second quarter of this year, receptionists, catering staff and logistics workers in particular lost their jobs. A total of 340,000 people had to look for new work, compared to 208,000 people who managed to find a job. According to CBS this represents a record decline of 132,000 jobs.
- Healthcare and education staff will be given priority to be tested from Monday 21 September, according to the central government announced. The tests should be done in the morning, so that they can get the results the same day. When the laboratory capacity is back up to standard, the priority for this group will disappear.
- Employees have started working more hours, both those working from home and those working on location. The number of cases of stress is not increasing, says TNO based on a survey of more than ten thousand people.
- The General Audit Office has a dashboard put online with an overview of all support measures and the associated costs. The dashboard shows, among other things, which ministry has invested how much money in which emergency measure and which parties have received that support.
