- The RIVM reports 3979 new infections for Tuesday, 1228 fewer than Monday. The number of new hospital admissions and deaths due to corona has increased: 82 admissions (31 more than Monday) and 90 corona deaths, 36 more than Monday. Furthermore, the R number is rising above 1 again.
- Based on these figures, the Outbreak Management Team says it is not wise to relax the current corona measures. There may also be advice to extend the Christmas holidays by a week, writes NRC.
- The European Commission is going to buy 160 million coronavirus vaccines from Moderna. This was announced by Ursula van der Leyen, President of the European Commission, announcedLast week, Moderna announced that its vaccine provides approximately 95 percent protection.
