• Producer confidence in the Netherlands has fallen from 0.2 in March to -28.7 in April. That is the lowest figure and the largest drop ever, reports CBS. The old low was -23.5 in February 2009. Industrial entrepreneurs are particularly negative about the order book, stocks and expected activity.
  • Invest-NL, a large government investment fund, has 100 million euros made available for the financing of start-ups and scale-ups affected by the coronavirus. This is done by means of a bridging loan via the Temporary Bridging Loan Program for innovative Start-up and Scale-ups (TOPSS) scheme.
  • More than one in five Dutch entrepreneurs have turned to their municipality for a supplement to their income. That is an estimate by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment (SZW), writes the NOS.
  • Worldwide, 305 million full-time jobs will be lost due to the corona pandemic, predicts the International Labor Organization. In the informal economy, including undeclared workers or people who are not registered, job losses amount to as many as 1.6 billion people.
