Brief economic corona news from November 30

- The RIVM reported 4610 new corona infections on Monday, 987 fewer than on Sunday. Hospital occupancy increased for the first time in days and amounted to 21 new patients. The total is 1721 people in hospital with corona.
- Compliance with the corona measures is improving, says the RIVM based on behavioral research. For example, 62 percent of respondents say they avoid crowds, compared to 52 percent in the previous survey. The number of people who get tested for symptoms is also increasing.
- The sales prices of Dutch industry were on average 5 percent lower in October than in October 2019. Compared to September, the sales prices of industry increased by 0.4 percent, reports CBS.
- DIY stores, DIY shops and kitchen suppliers did good business in the second quarter. The hospitality industry also saw a turnover growth of 103.6 percent thanks to the relaxation of the corona measures in the third quarter, says CBS.
- ABN Amro will cut approximately 15 percent of its jobs by 2025, writes NRC. According to the bank, this is the result of further digitalization. Currently, approximately 19,000 people work at ABN Amro.
