The German position sensor specialist Kübler, represented by Duranmatic, is expanding its portfolio with IO-Link products. IO-Link is becoming increasingly established in the automation market and is now used in machine tools, production lines, intralogistics and packaging machines. In addition to the encoders, Kübler also supplies draw-wire encoders with IO-Link. Magnetic single- and multiturn encoders with IO-Link Based on the compact Sendix M36 with a housing diameter of 36 mm and available with solid shaft or hollow shaft, Kübler is expanding this product family with the IO-Link version 1.1 according to IEC 61131-9. The new IO-Link encoders from Kübler are divided into two profiles: the Smart Sensor Profile and the Kübler Standard Profile. Diagnostic options have been added to these, which enable remote maintenance of the encoders as well as firmware updates via IO-Link. Sendix M36 magnetic encoders are based on the so-called “Energy harvesting” principle. This makes them particularly cost-efficient compared to optical encoders. The M36 encoders are extremely resistant to shocks, vibrations and installation errors due to the special bearing mounting according to the Safety-Lock™ design. They are available with a protection class of up to IP67 and have a temperature range of -40 °C to + 85 °C. IO-Link draw-wire encoders up to 42.5 m measuring length Kübler also combines its new IO-Link encoders with its draw-wire mechanisms. The Kübler portfolio is divided into 4 performance classes. The Performance and Compact lines contain the new draw-wire encoders with IO-Link encoders. The measuring range ranges from 0.3 m to 42.5 m and offers practical solutions such as fixed and interchangeable mounting of the encoders on draw-wire mechanisms, as well as different cable types and cable attachments. An additional feature offered by the application of IO-Link encoders on wire draw mechanisms are the soft limit switches for position and speed.
