Members' section 'Introducing ourselves': Elincom Electronics

I have the honor to be the first to start this new section. During the board meeting of our association, the idea arose to ask members to introduce themselves to the other members.

My name is Danny Langbroek, almost 50 years old and recently 25 years in the service of Elincom Electronics BV. I have been a member of the association since the beginning of 2000. My first meeting was EMC in practice in Ede and after this meeting I became a member of the association. The reason for becoming a member was to gain knowledge in the field of EMC and of course the opportunity to network with EMC specialists. Unfortunately, 2020 is not the best year for this, but of course it is understandable that many activities cannot take place now due to corona.

I started 25 years ago as a Product Manager of EMC filters from the manufacturer Block Transformatoren-Elektronik GmbH from Germany. They mainly make input and output filters for frequency controllers and supply to many well-known frequency controller manufacturers. Since we don't have that many of them in the Netherlands, we concentrate more on general applications. In addition to Block, we also have EMI, which focuses on smaller panel filters, but also Tempest filters. Since 2005, I have been the owner of Elincom electronics BV, but I still work with technology on a daily basis because that is what I like doing the most.

Since 2010 I have been a member of the board of the association. At that time the board consisted of only real EMC specialists and that is why I have volunteered to be treasurer from the start. It seemed wiser to me to let my specialism shine in that than to have to compete technically with a Frank Leferink, Gert Gremmen or a Pierre Beeckman.

In 2018 we acquired EEMC from Antoon Naus. Antoon Naus was also a member of our association for many years and saw us as the right candidate to continue his company. Where Elincom deals with line-related interference, EEMC focuses mainly on EMC shielding materials.

Given the ever-increasing use of wireless communication and the increasing frequency, there is still plenty of challenge to be found for our association and its members in the coming years. Of course, a good design is the most important, but EMC material will still be needed to ensure that devices meet their requirements. I hope to continue to enjoy doing this for many years to come.
