Leakage current monitoring

Leakage currents can be caused by poor or outdated insulation or by connection errors. These unwanted (leakage) currents can lead to the following problems:

► Switching off earth leakage circuit breakers
► Fire (generally with leakage currents >300mA)
► Personal injury (generally with leakage currents >30mA)
► EMC problems

Leakage current monitoring devices detect deterioration of the insulation level and connection errors early and safely. This prevents unwanted failures, malfunctions or dangerous situations. Continuous monitoring according to the new IEC60364-6 standard, makes periodic testing of the insulation unnecessary.

Continuously monitor leakage currents

On this advice page we present our product program with which it is possible to continuously monitor and/or monitor leakage currents. The advantages of these continuous measurements are:

A warning before an earth leakage circuit breaker is switched off.
Preventing breakdowns, fire and possible personal injury.
Permanent measuring provides the information to solve EMC problems.
Periodic testing not necessary, so lower costs, no down-time and possible damage due to high test voltages.
