The deadline for applying for the transition compensation scheme is fast approaching. Applications submitted later than September 30 will not be processed. When are you as an employer entitled to this compensation?

An employer can apply for transition compensation if an employee is dismissed who has been ill for more than two years. For all cases between July 1, 2015 and April 1, 2020, you can submit this application until October 1 at the latest. This can be done via the website UWV.

An employee is entitled to a transition payment if he is dismissed because he can no longer do his work due to illness. The manner in which the agreement is terminated is not important.

If you, as an employer, want to submit an application, do not forget to keep all relevant documents for the employee. This includes personnel and financial documents, but also the dismissal permit or termination agreement.

The application is made via the UWV, where you can log in to the employer portal using eHerkenning.
