Our PIR sensors are becoming even more versatile. And of course they remain compact.

Building management, climate control and a comfortable working environment: you can make smart work of it with our PIR sensors for person detection. The range of models is large, the applications are wide. Especially now that we are launching two new lenses on the market later this year.

With the arrival of both versions, the number of detection zones via one sensor increases enormously. This provides unique advantages. For example, one lens offers an above-average wide viewing angle in addition to the many detection zones, which means that fewer sensors are needed in an open-plan office, for example. The other version in turn has such an intense detection image that the sensor measures presence as well as movement.

Meet our new PIR sensors for person detection.

At Panasonic Industry we believe that a sensor should be small. This also applies to our PIR sensors for person detection. They are compact. They have a modular design and all contain the same hardware, which saves costs when renewing or replacing.

Small and versatile
Yet our years of knowledge of sensors are mainly in the lens of the sensor. Because that is where our pursuit of the smallest possible size meets as much functionality as possible. How that works out is evident from the lenses of our two new PIR sensors.

Detection zones doubled
Compared to the lens in our current slight motion sensor, the two new lenses almost double the number of detection zones per sensor. Our new ultra slight motion type therefore senses very accurately, down to the level of moving fingers on a keyboard. The new wide area version, in turn, has a wider detection field – and thus ensures that fewer sensors are required.

Good for many applications
Both lenses will be launched later this year and together they will provide numerous applications. While the advantages of the wide area variant are mainly reflected in larger office spaces, the ultra slight motion variant as a motion and presence sensor is more suitable for a meeting room. WEBINAR:

We would of course like to tell you more about the new versions of our PIR sensors. And therefore cordially invite you to our free webinar, on Wednesday 24 June from 10:00 to 11:00. Register, listen and ask us your questions.

Get insight into the possibilities
During the webinar, attention will of course be paid to the specifications of the two new lens versions. But in which situations are they useful? Automatically switching on and off lighting is obvious, but there is more. For example, sensors can measure whether someone has been in a room and pass that data on to the cleaner. In a time of COVID-19, that information is more important than ever. Moreover, by not having to clean a room because no one has been there, this not only saves time but also saves costs.

Flat is so beautiful
Thanks to their small size, our PIR sensors are easy to integrate. In addition, they are hardly noticeable, especially when they have a flat format instead of the usual convex shape. This is aesthetically pleasing, so we are currently working on such a flat sensor. Curious about the latest developments? You will hear about those during the webinar. Register by sending an email to verkoop.pewswe@eu.panasonic.com and join in!
