MVO Nederland and purchasing organization Nevi are sounding the alarm. They jointly call for solidarity and cooperation.

In the initial phase of the corona crisis, everyone showed solidarity between the two organizations, but some exceptions are now emerging. MVO Nederland and Nevi note that there are companies that use the crisis to behave 'selfishly' towards suppliers. Examples of this include significantly extending payment terms or demanding a significant discount on the invoice. These unilateral decisions can cause problems elsewhere in the chain.

FHI recognizes the concerns of both organizations about these types of signals and this can be disastrous for many suppliers. They therefore strongly urge the contractual fulfillment of the obligations. If that doesn't work, look for a solution together. For example, a revision or a special payment arrangement can be jointly considered. The possibilities for this are there, but it must be done together and in harmony.
