The RIVM and Agentschap Telecom (AT) have investigated what the possible future exposure will be to electromagnetic fields (EMF) from 5G systems. The investigation investigated what this means for people's health and whether there could be disruption of devices.

The RIVM and AT expect that the number of devices that contribute to the exposure of people will increase further. What this means for the total exposure of people to electromagnetic fields is unknown. This may increase, remain the same or even decrease with the introduction of 5G. Measurements must show what the trend will be. The 5G transmitters examined meet the exposure limits for electromagnetic fields.

The Dutch EMC-ESD association is a member of the sounding board group of the Knowledge Platform EMV and is therefore closely involved in this research.
