Members of the EMC-ESD association are cordially invited to participate in the first online PETER “Problem Solving” session at the online Network-Wide Event in the context of the ETN PETER Project. You can find more information about this PETER project here. This online PETER “Problem Solving” session will take place on Friday, April 16, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM (CEST). Participation in this session is free, but registration is required via here.

An objective of the Dutch EMC-ESD association is to build a bridge between universities and the business community. That is why the association regularly supports subsidized research projects, the added value of which is clear to us, with a letter of recommendation. The PETER project is such a project that has the attention of the association's board. The problem solving session is very similar to the EMC knowledge market that we regularly organize as an association and since it is not possible to organize this event from the association this year, we would like to use the offer of the PETER project to participate in their problem solving session to close. That is why we highly recommend this session to you.

In this “Problem Solving” session, the PETER researchers will give their opinion/position on the following three topics, in a 10-minute presentation on each topic:

  • Every new technology generates new EMC problems. Do we need new standards, or are the current standards sufficient? Or do we need a different approach?
  • It is impossible to conduct a proper EM risk assessment for future situations as we do not know how the technology and associated human behavior will evolve. Imagine if an EM risk assessment was conducted to bring a product to market 25 years ago; almost no one had ever heard of the Internet, let alone its enormous impact on wireless connectivity.
  • The PETER project will introduce the EM risk assessment and management approach as a replacement for a rules-based approach, so, forget the rules, no one wants to apply them and they are not appropriate and efficient anyway.
  • After each 10-minute presentation there is the opportunity for interaction and discussion with the PETER researchers and other attendees about the specific topic.

    EMC Compo
