Government points out information obligation for energy saving companies
The Environmental Management Activities Decree will change in 2019, which means that in addition to an information obligation, companies also have an energy saving obligation. From July 1, companies must report which energy-saving measures they have taken.
The information obligation applies to companies and institutions that burn more than 50,000 kWh of electricity or 25,000 m³ of natural gas annually. They must indicate by July 1 at the latest which energy-saving measures they have taken. The aim is to accelerate energy savings, like this reports the Netherlands Enterprise Agency.
Energy-saving measures have been drawn up for various industries in the Recognized List of Measures for Energy Savings (EML). These measures have a payback period of 5 years or less. The list will be updated soon.
Companies can submit their reports to RVO.nl's eLoket. The RVO also offers a webinar in which the energy saving information obligation is explained.
