Dear members,

As you are now aware, as a PLOT board we are doing everything we can to keep in touch with you as best as possible during these difficult times. The lunch sessions have now been a great success and I even wonder if we will ever get rid of them, even when physical meetings are possible again. Then we will have to get used to it again, but that also keeps us sharp of course and is a nice prospect.

A newsletter will also arrive in your mailbox once a quarter. Not too often, because we don't want to build such good contact that we end up in the 'spam' box. However, it is a very good opportunity to look back and look ahead.

A brief review. In the past period, there have been regular consultations with CEEES with the main aim of gaining better visibility and attracting young, enthusiastic members. CEEES is well equipped in terms of themes and knowledge, but rejuvenation and new insights also make this future-proof and we must also keep (all) European countries on board in a European context. That is why we have had many discussions about the website. Not only about the content but also about the design. Nowadays you can no longer get away with a pale yellow and red website, we need to move towards a confidence-inspiring blue/white layout with an effective “clicker-the-click” feeling.

Looking ahead, we are of course very much looking forward to PLOT's 25th anniversary. And we are especially looking forward to celebrating this together. We are secretly planning a physical meeting in November at a nice location where we can jointly celebrate 25 years of collaboration. Because we create the PLOT together, most members have been loyal members for years, some even since the founding period. So it would also be very nice to shed light on the development of PLOT from this historical perspective. After all, a lot has happened in recent years, not to mention the last two years. With this still in mind and the fact that a Reliability Engineer mainly looks at the failure modes, we will still keep a virtual meeting, such as at the Showcase, in mind as a backup.

You will receive an update from the working groups further in this newsletter. They are mainly responsible for knowledge development. Things that require a lot of work can seem very simple on paper, so don't be distracted by the words on paper. Just know that the working groups are still active and they are always open to your input.

We are stable in terms of management and finances, there are few details to report and this will be explained in the next members meeting. However, the chairmanship of the Climate Working Group has been taken over by Marcel van Doesburg, and I would also like to thank Boudewijn Jacobs for setting up and leading this.

Finally, I would like to thank you for your trust, active membership and attendance at the (virtual) meetings. At this point, I hope to say that we have survived the dip and are moving toward an even stronger future.

Yours sincerely,

Harry
