Siemens introduces intelligent link module to increase data transparency in industrial applications

With the SIRIUS 3RC7 intelligent link module (3RC7 ILM), Siemens now offers a quick and easy way to achieve full data transparency down to the field level by making conventional motor starters intelligent. The plug-and-play expansion module combines information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) with minimal installation and commissioning effort. This means that the available data from consumers in the field can be used efficiently.
As part of Siemens’ leading Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) automation concept, the SIRIUS 3RC7 intelligent link modules are seamlessly integrated into the existing automation environment. SIRIUS 3RC7 is part of the comprehensive SIRIUS portfolio for industrial switchgear.

With the SIRIUS 3RC7 intelligent link module, you can integrate the consumer directly into the automation system via the motor starter. It offers a new dimension of transparency. Measured values are immediately available, as are current status messages and integrated diagnostics. This expansion module turns a conventional motor starter into an intelligent motor starter. The SIRIUS 3RC7 ILM makes the SIRIUS portfolio suitable for communication and parameterization with the automation. This allows the intelligent motor starter to measure, monitor, control and report in addition to protecting and switching.
