On April 21, the Senate adopted the AGM emergency law. This law makes it possible to hold a general membership meeting online. The law may come into effect as early as this week and will then expire on September 1. It also includes the option to extend this law by two months at a time.
What exactly does the emergency law entail?
This legislation is intended for, for example, associations that must hold an annual general meeting. However, due to the corona crisis, it is not possible to meet physically. That is why this law makes it possible for consultation and decision-making procedures to take place digitally, instead of physically. The board of legal entities can now decide to do this. They may also decide to postpone the AGM and/or the preparation of the annual accounts.
