early supplier involvement:
tbp recommends imec's DfX guidelines
'Delivering optimal market value and the highest quality to customers' is what tbp electronics strives for. That makes 'early supplier involvement' and 'Design for eXcellence' (DfX) of great value to tbp. The DfX process aims to minimize the total cost of ownership - from development to end of life - by creating the most optimal product design as early as possible in the development cycle. An easily transferable product requires a DfX process that is independent of equipment and the EMS supplier. That is why tbp advises all its (future) clients to follow the DfX guidelines of imec for Electronic Design & Manufacturing (EDM). These guidelines are based on scientific analyses and modeling of the production methods, quality and reliability of assembled pcba's (printed circuit board assemblies). They are the result of ten years of joint research by imec in collaboration with industry partners and the EDM network.
