Installation companies and technical service providers have been hit hard by the corona crisis, according to a quick scan by the business organization Techniek Nederland. Of those interviewed, 62 percent expect to apply for a reduction in working hours within two weeks.

Respondents also expect that turnover for this month and April will decrease by at least a third compared to the same period a year ago.

According to a news report from Techniek Nederland, the boom in the installation sector has turned into a crisis in no time. According to the survey results, 3,100 of the 5,000 affiliated installation companies will apply for working time reductions from the government. Approximately 20 percent expect this to be necessary for more than half of their employees.

Furthermore, the quick scan shows that 90 percent think that the rapid deterioration of the market situation is caused by the fact that they are no longer allowed or able to carry out work for customers. Furthermore, absenteeism due to illness is increasing: one in three companies has more than 10 percent sick employees.

Techniek Nederland calls on clients to pay invoices more quickly in order to somewhat limit the impact of the crisis.
