Parker Chomerics’ new THERM-A-GAP GEL 20 is a high reliability thermal interface material specially developed for the automotive industry.
The single-component GEL-20 has a mid-range thermal conductivity of 2.4 W/mK and is therefore widely applicable.
The paste-like substance can be easily and controlled dosed in variable thicknesses up to a gap of 4 mm. The optimal function requires only a low pressure force, which means that the contacted components and solder joints experience minimal mechanical stress. The material is extremely suitable for cyclic thermal fluctuations and continues to perform well even at high temperatures. This means that the material meets the high demands in the automotive market.
Other product features:
- working range -55 to 200°C
- no secondary curing required
- low evaporation
- resistant to movement during vibrations
- superior adhesive strength
- consistent material with long term reliability
Applications include automotive infotainment systems, onboard chargers and inverters, engine management systems, etc., but of course also in other applications where cyclic heating, high temperatures and long-term reliability are required.
GEL 20 is available in many different packaging sizes from 10cc hand sprayer to 20 litre buckets.
