Batteries and Ultracapacitors are the two most widely used technologies for energy storage. But what is the difference between the battery and the ultracapacitor? And how does the application influence this choice? During Energy Storage 2020, exhibitors will provide Nijkerk Electronics (via Skeleton Technologies) and AEP International a lecture on Ultracapacitors. Skeleton Technologies will discuss the differences and advantages and disadvantages of Ultracapacitors compared to batteries and AEP International will describe which additional components an Ultracapacitor energy storage system has and what is needed to make this system reliable, operational and safe.

The biggest difference between both technologies is that Ultracapacitors store energy in an electrostatic field and batteries by means of a chemical reaction. In addition, they differ in, for example, energy density, power density, lifespan and weight.

The full list of advantages and disadvantages and technical specifications of these storage systems will be covered in the technical lectures at the event.

Hope to see you during the Energy Storage event on February 13, 2020 in Van der Valk Hotel Vianen!
