These forms of protection must be checked regularly. This check is called a validation and is laid down in the NEN-EN 12469:2000 standard. This standard describes which tests must be performed during a validation and which performance requirements a microbiological safety cabinet must meet.
There are 3 fixed moments at which a validation must take place. Namely before the first use, when changing the location of the safety cabinet and during an annual inspection.
Your purchase should therefore be tested after installation, but before you start working with it, to ensure that it meets requirements and that you and your employees can work safely.
A standard validation consists of the following components:
-Filter integrity test
-Air velocity measurements
-Visualize flow profiles
