For most questions you have Quadrupole a suitable solution. This also applies to a customer who wanted to renew all control panels in his laboratory due to the many expansions in and around the cabinet.

The replacement could of course not make any concessions to quality and the limited space in the lab had to be taken into account. Of course, the price also had to be taken critically. The logical step was a redesign in which every mm of DIN rail space had to be used effectively. The solution for this was found in the contactors from IC Electronic.

The old panels contained many 1-phase contactors for controlling heaters and tracing. For natural heat dissipation, a space of 1 cm between two contactors was assumed. Unlike what the customer was used to, IC Electronic's contactors offered the option of being mounted side by side. Without any gaps and therefore without wasting DIN rail space. Moreover, the installation did not result in a de-rating, even with a 100% duty cycle.

Building in security is unnecessary
The customer did not have to use a power size larger for safety reasons. And thanks to the high short-circuit resistance (I2t) of IC Electronic contactors, a standard glass fuse is sufficient, which protects both the installation and the contactors against short circuits. These glass fuses with matching fuse holders also save space, offer operational reliability and have a very favorable cost price. The solution therefore fully meets the customer's demanding application.
