Waters Corporation introduces the new Xevo™ TQ Absolute system, the most sensitive and compact mass spectrometer in its class.

Waters’ latest high-performance mass spectrometer is up to 15 times more sensitive to negatively ionizing compounds than its predecessor, up to 45% smaller and uses up to 50% less electricity and gas than other high-performance tandem quadrupole mass spectrometers on the market. The Xevo TQ Absolute is designed to support analytical laboratories in the pharmaceutical, food and environmental sectors in meeting the regulations that require quantitative mass spectrometry analysis for a wide range of applications.

“The Xevo TQ Absolute is designed for laboratories seeking industry-leading quantitative sensitivity, accuracy, reproducibility, efficiency and durability,” said Jon Pratt, Waters Division Senior Vice President, Waters Corporation. “The system delivers more analytical power in a much more compact format than any mass spectrometer in its class, achieving exceptionally low limits of quantitation and helping laboratory managers optimize the use of their equipment and analytical results.”

For optimal performance, Waters combines the Xevo TQ Absolute mass spectrometer with the Waters' ACQUITY™ Premier UPLC System of MaxPeak™ HPS technology, eliminating non-specific adsorption of compounds with phosphate and/or carboxylate groups and improving their recovery. The combination of this integrated LC-MS/MS system is designed to keep the limits of quantitation exceptionally low for numerous applications.

Global customer deliveries of the Xevo TQ Absolute are expected to begin in May.
