The LabAutomation Week 2020, from June 29 to July 2, attracted a total of 317 viewers. The digital knowledge week of the Laboratory Technology sector provided viewers with tools to get started with laboratory automation through ten webinar sessions.

Tim Schommartz from Eppendorf talked during the webinars about how (q)PCR has evolved and how PCR can be improved. Damian von Blarer from Infors-HT discussed the central storage and processing of data using a bioprocess data warehouse, while Lara Matthews from Bio-ITech highlighted tools for ELNs.

COVID-19 also returned several times in the topics. For example, Inge Wtterwulghe from Elscolab talked about how large numbers of corona tests can be processed in a laboratory with an RT-PCR setup. The keynote speaker Marcel Braam from Indorama was unfortunately unable to attend due to personal circumstances. This lecture will become available at a later stage.

The most viewed webinars came from Waters: 'Take a step forward towards the paperless lab with NuGenesis LMS', Analis: 'Getting the Best out of Your Automated Liquid Handler' and Elscolab: 'Automated RT-PCR setup for Covid-19 testing '.

The Laboratory Technology sector hopes to be able to organize a regular event again next year, but the webinars have the advantage that the lectures can also be viewed later. The links to these webinars will soon be available on the LabAutomation website.
