The total circulation of the WoTS parrot is 1500 pieces. A1 Electronics is responsible for the production of the trade fair gadget and the logistic organization. “The components come from various sponsors and we combine them into a final product,” Oude Vrielink explains. “Several machines are connected to each other, ensuring that separate parts come together to form a final product.”
The company from Almelo also adjusts any problems. The current component shortage affects the normal activities of A1 Electronics, but fortunately the sponsors were able to deliver all the materials on time and nothing stands in the way of the production of the parrot.
Cooperation
Oude Vrielink is not worried about the deadline: "All components are ready and the collaboration with various parties went well. Together we strengthen each other and that is always very valuable to experience. Dekimo was involved in the design and Eurocircuits bent over the PCBs and prototypes. We don't have to worry about that and the same goes for the DFM analysis and testing. This takes VDL TBP Electronics at his expense.”
Valuable
Oude Vrielink experienced the collaboration with other parties as something valuable and pleasant: "Suppliers, customers and companies come together and work together. That is very nice. I find it very valuable to join forces with other parties anyway. That is also the reason why I am a member of the EMS cluster. This society exchanges knowledge and experiences with the aim of growing the industry.”
New generation
The reason for participating in the parrot project is twofold for A1 Electronics. It creates brand awareness, but it is also intended to new generation to interest in technology. “The trade fair and the gadget are great tools to get people excited about technical subjects. Electronics is a great subject, but not appealing enough for many people. Hopefully the trade fair will change that, because we can show what is possible. The parrot appeals to the imagination and shows what we can achieve here in the Netherlands,” concludes Oude Vrielink.
