Senior hardware engineer (Katwijk)

As a senior electronics hardware engineer, you will work on designing and developing high-quality hardware for mechatronic control systems, high-tech solutions, and consumer electronics.

What are you going to do?

As a senior hardware engineer in electronics, you work on designing, developing, and improving high-quality hardware designs for innovative client projects. You are actively involved in the entire development process: from concept to prototype and series production. You work within a technical team with hardware engineers, software engineers, and project management, where collaboration and knowledge sharing are central.

In this role, you are responsible for, among other things:

• Designing electronic hardware: from concept, hardware architecture, and schematics to prototypes.
• Translating customer requirements into technical and functional specifications and an actual product.
• Optimizing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) to improve production and testability.
• Solving complex hardware design challenges in a pragmatic and structured manner.
• Coaching and guiding fellow engineers within the team (technical management).

What are you bringing?

For this senior hardware engineer vacancy, we are looking for an experienced professional with:

• A completed HBO or WO degree in electrical engineering, embedded systems, mechatronics, or similar.

• At least 5 years of experience in electronics hardware development and PCB design.

• Strong knowledge of hardware design, microcontrollers, and analog/digital engineering.

• Experience in translating customer requests into technical solutions and products.

• Pragmatic and analytical working style: switching gears quickly and making well-founded choices.

• Experience with embedded software, VHDL, simulation software, and/or RF technology (preferred).

• Knowledge of tools such as Altium and/or OrCAD is a plus.

• Good communication skills in Dutch and English.

• Proactive attitude with an eye for project objectives and team results.

• Strong performer both independently and as part of a team.
