Weighing, the measurement of mass using gravity, is one of the oldest measuring techniques. The ancient Egyptians already knew weighing equipment. But even today, thanks to electronics and computer technology, weighing technology is alive and well.
The VLW (Association of Suppliers of Weighing Instruments) was founded as a result of the road consultation platform that was set up in the 1980s, jointly with the then IJkwezen.
Suppliers of weighing equipment are affiliated with the VLW. The VLW is the consultation body for government consultation with suppliers, both manufacturers and importers.
