Since its founding in 1984, MIP has developed into an independent and internationally oriented family business. In the initial period, the focus was primarily on the agricultural sector, in which MIP is the European market leader. Since the beginning of this century, activities have also been broadened to include the petrochemicalsfeedfoodbuild and winter service

MIP's vision is to continuously invest in its design and engineering expertise, quality, production processes, and services. As a result, MIP has developed into a professional and reliable partner for its customers.

MIP is led by a young and enthusiastic management team, headed by Maikel Elst. In recent years, this team has built the company with great vision and daring into one of the most modern silo and tank builders in Europe.

MIP has two production sites. The main facility is in Rijkevorsel (B), where between 2,500 and 3,200 tanks and silos leave the factory annually, up to a diameter of Ø 5,000 mm. In Moerdijk (NL), tanks and silos are produced in one piece up to a diameter of Ø 14,000 mm and a capacity of 4,000 m³. With this production capacity, MIP is one of the largest manufacturers in Europe of composite (GRP, Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic) tanks and silos.

The benefits of composite

Why use composite as a building material for storage systems? Composite has a number of properties that offer clear advantages over traditional materials such as concrete, aluminium, steel, and stainless steel.

Corrosion resistant

Composite does not rust or corrode like steel and other metals. It is impermeable to water, vapors, and gases and is resistant to most chemicals. Where necessary, various types of liners are available, making the composite tank resistant to the full range of aggressive chemicals.

Lightweight

Composite is approximately 60-75% lighter than steel, but it is many times stronger. The glass-resin ratio yields a lightweight material that possesses extremely high stiffness and tensile strength and can handle high bulk densities. Furthermore, the lighter weight reduces the transport and installation costs significantly. We make the tank or silo entirely in our factory, allowing installation time to remain very short.

Almost no maintenance

Because composite does not rust, have tanks or silos Composite requires almost no maintenance, apart from conventional cleaning. Due to the UV-resistant coating, the tanks and silos They also do not require periodic painting and are highly resistant to the elements.

Impact resistant

Unlike steel, composite returns to its original shape after impact thanks to its advanced elastic properties. Tests have shown that composite can withstand a larger, blunt impact without permanent deformation.

No high installation costs

Composite is lightweight, meaning a simple truck crane is usually sufficient for unloading and placement. This allows for a significant reduction in the transport and installation costs can be saved. Moreover, composite requires no specialized cutting or welding equipment and can usually be installed with simple hand tools. The installation time is short, because everything is already pre-installed at the factory.

Insensitive to condensation

Due to the high thermal insulation value, composite silos are less susceptible to condensation on the inner or outer walls. This ensures that foodstuffs and feed not start rotting and that building materials such as cement do not harden and clump in the silo. In this way, product quality is safeguarded and perfect product flow is guaranteed. Where moisture and condensation affect the product, we have additional solutions to prevent moisture formation.

Excellent temperature performance

Composite withstands continuous temperatures of 60-100 °C, while the full structural integrity of the tank or silo is maintained.
