On Tuesday, September 22, 2026, the company with the best stand presentation at the World of Industry will be awarded the Hartong Trophy. The Machevo & Bulk Association will present this trophy at the World of Industry, Technology & Science (WoTS) trade fair at the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. Who will take home the coveted trophy this year? An expert jury will subject all stands to a critical assessment on the first day of the fair.

You are welcome for a drink at the Machevo Hotspots in Hall 7 from 16:30, where the prestigious award will be presented at 17:30.

The criteria

With regard to the assessment and evaluation of presentations on the trade fair floor, the jury will pay attention to, among other things:

  • Presentation
Is the stand distinctive from other participants? Is the stand designed in such a way that it is clear and concise for the visitor what the exhibitor offers? Does the stand have 'stopping power'?
  • Communication
Is the visitor captivated by the acting of the stand crew? Is it clear at a glance which product or service is involved?
  • Passion
To what extent is the stand staff familiar with the concept and message of the company they represent? Do they identify with their organization? Is the staff proactive?
  • Creativity
Does the stand succeed in attracting extra attention? How is the design?

History

The Hartong Trophy is an initiative of the Machevo & Bulk Association and has been awarded since 1983 to the company with the best stand presentation. The rotating trophy is named after the late Mr. L.F. Hartong, Chairman of the Machevo Association and founder of the former Machevo trade fair (currently organized by FHI as World of Industry, which is one of the three worlds of World of Industry, Technology & Science – WoTS). The rotating trophy is a work of art designed by the late visual artist Nico van Lierop.
