New rules of the game are needed to accommodate the future demand for digital capacity. Bart works as a program manager at Alliander (parent company of grid operator Liander), collaborating with governments and industries to prepare sectors for the future.
In this context, flexible and sensible energy use plays a crucial role in achieving sustainability, affordability, and a resilient energy system. Together with the DDA (Dutch Datacenter Association), he is working on new ground rules for the National Approach to Datacenters, which the Cabinet will send to the House of Representatives later this year. He is happy to provide a sneak preview of what is being considered and how companies can prepare for this.
