Cluster Electronics Manufacturing Services

The EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) cluster comprises a group of companies that produce electronics. FHI organizes quarterly meetings for this group focusing on current topics. The goal of these meetings is to discuss socio-economic issues, raise concerns, learn from each other, and jointly develop new insights and solutions.

Members of this group also speak to each other regularly during fairs and events. Everyone's opinion and knowledge is important and that is why we would like to invite you to participate in our expert group!

Featured: The Component Database

In 2022, the members of the EMS expertise group conceived and developed the component database: XS Parts. Through this online platform, group members can buy or sell small and large quantities of components.

Components are usually purchased in full “reels”, often in hundreds or thousands, while in practice the buyer needs a smaller number. During a brainstorming session, the idea arose to make the remaining components available to each other via a database. This way you deal with your stocks efficiently and you support colleagues who may need that one component. The online transaction takes place directly between buyer and seller, so without an intermediary.

Op 4 februari kwam het cluster samen bij componentendistributeur en fabrikant Würth Elektronik in Son. Tijdens het clusteroverleg spraken de leden onder andere over de marktontwikkelingen, componentendatabase, Academie en Young Professionals binnen de EMS-sector.

Daarnaast gaf Würth Elektronik een presentatie over milieuwetgeving. De lezing van Geert Willems (IMEC) gaf extra verdieping, met concrete inzichten in elektronicaproductie en de steeds veranderende én toenemende wet- en regelgeving.

De middag werd afgesloten met een bezoek aan het EMI-debugging lab en natuurlijk de netwerkborrel. Dank aan Würth Elektronik voor de gastvrijheid!

Bij dit clusteroverleg waren wij met 25 bedrijven uit het EMS cluster te gast bij Matas Electronics.

In het overleg gingen wij o.a. met elkaar het gesprek aan over Elektronicaopleidingen, marktontwikkelingen en de componentendatabase. We sloten af met een presentatie vanuit Matas Electronics, rondleiding en borrel.

Mooi om te zien dat de bedrijven open met elkaar praten over de marktontwikkelingen, samenwerken en kennis delen over machines & automatisering.

Bedankt Guido Bergman, Toine van den Oetelaar en Titian Bogaerts en hele Matas Electronics team voor het warme ontvangst en de goede zorgen!
