IC LEDs combine RGB chips with an integrated controller, enabling precise current regulation, PWM dimming, and flexible static or dynamic lighting effects. Their compact and convenient design, however, can introduce specific electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) challenges—particularly in single-wire control systems.

This presentation examines the EMC behavior of single-wire IC LEDs, focusing on potential sources of electromagnetic emissions and susceptibility. It provides practical design guidance for a successful IC LED design-in, including signal integrity, power supply considerations, PCB layout, filtering, grounding, and cable management.

Based on real-world application insights, the presentation highlights common EMC pitfalls and effective mitigation techniques. Participants will gain a better understanding of how to combine the aesthetic and functional advantages of IC LEDs with robust EMC performance, helping them develop reliable lighting solutions that meet the requirements of the final product.
