TDK Corporation (TSE:6762) announces the expansion of the TDK-Lambda D1SE series of cost-effective DIN rail power supplies with models featuring output voltages of 12, 48, and 72 V. The series was initially launched with 24 V versions with power ratings of 120, 240, and 480 W. The range has now been expanded to better meet the needs of diverse applications. The 12 V model is well-suited for PLCs, sensors, robot arms, and security applications, among others. The 48 V output option caters to engineers active in industrial networking and Power over Ethernet (PoE). The 72 V model is primarily intended for DC motors and drives.

With an efficiency of over 95%, internal losses are limited, keeping the temperature of heat-sensitive components such as electrolytic capacitors within limits. This increases the long-term reliability of the product and reduces energy consumption. These new models can operate within a wide range of 85 – 264 VAC, as well as at DC input voltages of 93 – 300 V. Safety certifications according to international standards have been obtained for both types of input voltages, offering the user a high degree of flexibility for use with an AC source, a DC bus, or a battery.

The D1SE series power supplies are equipped with reliable push-in connectors, reducing installation time and facilitating the automatic installation of cable harnesses by robots. An option for a protective printed circuit board coating (A5) is now available, including a closed-contact DC OK relay. The compact size can be useful when designing applications such as powering control cabinets, machines, and a wide range of production systems.

The space-saving, robust metal housing has a width of 38 mm for the 120 W models, 44 mm for the 240 W models, and 60 mm for the 480 W models, providing space to mount additional components on the DIN rail.

The D1SE series is certified according to standards IEC/EN/UL/CSA 61010-1, 61010-2-201, 62368-1 (Ed.3) and IS 13252-1, and features CE and UKCA marking in accordance with the Low Voltage, EMC, and RoHS directives. Compared to many industrial power supplies, the series comfortably meets the EN 55011-B and CISPR11-B standards for radiated and conducted emissions. The series also complies with standards EN 61000-3-2 (Class A) for harmonic currents and IEC/EN 61000-6-2 for immunity. The IEC/EN 61000-4-5 asymmetrical surge voltage (L-PE) is 4 kVAC.

The isolation voltage between input and output is 5000 VDC; between input and ground it is 3100 VDC and between output and ground 750 VDC. The D1SE models are cooled by natural convection and are suitable for use at ambient temperatures of -25 to +70 °C, with power being limited (derating) at temperatures above 55 °C.
