Bivar's GVLP series consists of vertical LED lightpipes for compact electronic systems where the distance between the PCB and the front panel is limited. The lightpipes use an integrated press-fit mounting, allowing positioning directly on the printed circuit board without adhesive or thermal fastening.
The design is intended for situations where mounting volume and component spacing are critical. The GVLP series is suitable for various SMD LED formats, including 0402, 0603, 0805, and 0807. This allows the light guide to be used with common LED configurations on the PCB.
The press-fit principle not only simplifies mechanical assembly but also eliminates an additional fastening step. For production environments, this means a reduction in the number of process operations and components.
The series is intended for, among others, industrial electronics, measurement and control technology, communication equipment, test and measurement systems, and embedded equipment.
